Check-in for Air Greenland flights open 1½ hour before departure at airports in Greenland and opens 2 hours before departure in Copenhagen and Keflavik.
Check-in for both domestic and international flights closes 1 hour before departure.
All passengers must be checked in at least 1 hour before departure regardless if they are travelling with or without checked baggage.
NOTE:
It is possible to check-in the day before from Monday to Friday between 1600–1800 in Nuuk (GOH).
Pre-checked passengers must have arrived at the airports in Greenland at least 30 minutes prior to departure and be ready to board. Passengers out of Copenhagen and Kangerlussuaq will be instructed regarding boarding through TV screens at the airport.
Note:
The passenger can risk being denied check in if they arrive to check in later than 1 hour before departure. The ticket will be registered as a no-show and only taxes can be refunded.
Web and mobile check-in
Passengers are able to print their own boarding pass by using Air Greenland web and mobile check-in, applicable for domestic flights in Greenland and flights out of Copenhagen.
Web and mobile check-in is open from 22 hours up until 1 hours before scheduled departure time.
If a checked passenger brings baggage to check in, the passenger must still check the baggage in at the airport at least 1 hour prior to departure.
Checked passengers departing out of Copenhagen can save time by going directly to the bag drop counter.
Identification (ID)
Valid ID will be required at check in and passenger must also be able to show valid ID on request at any time.
Foreign nationals A valid passport must be shown at check in.
VISA: There are no restrictions on entering Greenland for foreigners, who are not required to have a VISA to visit Denmark. If in doubt foreigners should inquire whether they will need a visa for travels to Greenland. In the affirmative, passengers must make sure to file an application in due time. There are different rules for residents of Schengen-countries and when traveling via Copenhagen passengers may need a visa for Denmark as well.

Residents in Greenland
Residents in Greenland can use any of the following as ID:
- Passport
- Driver's licence
- Civil registration number certificate (CPR number)
- Birth certificate
- Certificate of residence
- Seamans Discharge book

Residents in Denmark
Residents in Denmark can use any of the following as ID:
- Driver's licence
- Medical card
- Passport
- ID card authorised by the European Schengen Information System
Note: All children must have their own passport from birth.
Security check
Passengers will go through security check on all international flights.
Here the passenger and handbaggage will be scanned. Here is some advice in order for the passenger to go through security smoothly:
Keep boarding pass and ID ready. Empty pockets into trays
Place laptop and mobiles visible to the security personnel. They may ask these to be turned on.
Throw out bottles containing liquids and put other liquids and creams with a volume of less than 100 ml in a transparent plastic bag.
