Air Greenland reserves the right to make amendment to the timetable.
In case of a schedule or flight change, the PNR will automatically be set on the responsible office queue.
If there is more than 24 hours till departure time, the agent in the responsible queueing office must ensure that the passenger is informed. Please note that if an APN email element has been inserted, information about the change will automatically be sent to the passenger.
In case the changes are made within 24 hours before departure the PNR will automatically still be set on queue to the responsible office.
Air Greenland will seek to contact all affected passengers by SMS (requires that the agent has inserted the APN phone element) or by phone.
If no contact element is in the PNR, the agent is responsible for ensureing the passenger is informed.
Air Greenland can offer alternative flights in case there is a mismatch between new flights and the purpose of travel.
Air Greenland can offer extensions of the stay by the amount of lost days due to the schedule change so it matches the actual travel period as originally booked – if possible.
The alternative can only be given if seats are available on chosen alternative flight.
Irregularity procedure
Flight changes due to irregularity is defined by delay due to weather or technical issues.
Passengers will be rebooked or rerouted to their end destination on the GL631-document. If other airline is ticketed as through fare on GL631-document the passengers will be rebooked if a reprotection agreement exists.
In case of changes due to irregularity the PNR is automatically set on queue to responsible office for information.
Air Greenland will always seek to get passengers to their end destination as soon as possible.
Downgrading/Upgrading
The passenger can be upgraded due to overbooking in economy class or a change in aircraft at no extra charge for the passenger.
The passenger will keep the 20 kg baggage allowance.
If the passenger is downgraded from business to economy class, the passenger will be compensated.
The compensation will depend on where they depart from, as departures out of Copenhagen are regulated by the EU rules and departures out of Greenland are not.
The EU rules state that passengers must be compensated 50% of the ticket price for the flight they are downgraded on.
Passengers going out of Greenland will be compensated the price difference they had paid to business + DKK 500.
The downgraded passengers will keep their 30 kg baggage allowance.
Delays causing cancellations
For delays causing cancellation within and from Greenland, from Denmark or Iceland, caused by weather or technical issues, Air Greenland will ensure overnight accommodation, breakfast, vouchers for lunch/dinner and taxi fare, if necessary.
For delays causing cancellation from a service contract area to another service contract area or to outside the service contract area, Air Greenland provides for vouchers for lunch and dinner and does not ensure overnight accommodation, breakfast and taxi fare.
Refund is permitted if flight is cancelled or alternative rebooking causes loss of purpose of the trip and not accepted by the passenger.
The passenger or the agent must still cancel the reservation as soon as possible or at least before new departure to ensure refund of the ticket due to irregularity.
It is possible for the passenger to ask the departure station to cancel the segments before new departure time. If flights are not cancelled in due time, refund is not possible, as the ticket will be registered as no-show.
More information about rules, regulations and passenger rights can be found on Air Greenland’s website www.airgreenland.com
Travelling on separate tickets
If a passenger is travelling on separate tickets, but all on GL631-documents, Air Greenland recommends that this is stated in the PNR or at least mentioned at check-in in order to rebook connecting flights on GL631-documents in case of delays.
If a passenger is travelling on separate tickets from origin to destination, with different airline documents and misses the connecting flight with another airline due to schedule changes, delays or cancellation, Air Greenland can not be accounted for any misconnection that may occur or for onward transportation.
